BOC Aviation announces orders for a total of 120 jets from Boeing, Airbus

BOC Aviation Limited (BOC Aviation) has announced new orders for a total of 120 narrowbody aircraft from both Boeing and Airbus.


The Singapore-based aircraft leasing company announced the move in two separate statements, which will see the company acquire the 120 jets which comprises of 50 Boeing 737-8 (737 MAX 8) and 70 Airbus A320neo aircraft.

 

As of March 2025, BOC Aviation reported it has a fleet of over 800 aircraft and engines that are owned, managed, or on order with the company. This includes a total of 350 A320ceo/neo aircraft, and 165 737-8/9 reported to be with the company in December 2024. In addition, the company has a fleet of 70 older 737NGs, which combined with the -8/9s, would total to around 235 of the narrowbody Boeing jets with the company.


BOC Aviation's orderbook for Airbus aircraft will surpass 200 and the total deliveries – including purchase and leasebacks – to the company by the European aircraft manufacturer will exceed 700 since its first order in 1996. The company's backlog of aircraft to be delivered is the largest in its history with Airbus.

The newly ordered 737-8s are scheduled to be delivered to BOC Aviation through 2031. BOC Aviation will also have conversion rights to other 737 family variants.

“Our strong partnership with Boeing has led to this 50-aircraft order for the fuel-efficient Boeing 737-8 aircraft. With this transaction, we have commitments to purchase over 140 of these aircraft, which is the largest Boeing orderbook position in our history,” said Townend. “This order will enable us to continue providing our airline customers with technologically advanced aircraft for their future fleet growth.”
